Description
Square nuts are one of the oldest and most basic forms of nuts used in fastening applications. As the name suggests, square nuts have a four-sided, square shape with an internally threaded hole at the center. They are commonly used in conjunction with bolts, threaded rods, and other externally threaded fasteners to secure two or more components together. Square nuts can be tightened with pliers or a wrench, making them ideal for use in blind locations. The user can tighten and loosen a square shaped fastener without having it in sight, as long as a sturdy grip can be obtained on two opposing sides of the nut or bolt head.
